"I wanted to record the invisible time that undeniably exists in tangible form. I resolved to make one hand sewing work per day, much like writing in a diary, which will in turn become a thing of the past, a year in review. Beginning January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2020, the hand stitched “Three Six Six” fabric works embodies the experiences of the pandemic and all its manifestations of despair, hope and the required perseverance during the shelter-in-place order. Like any average person these days, I began posting my progress online (@silkmiran_2020) on social media websites leaving images for posterity."
